A Day’s Wreck that Lasted for a Lifetime I think I’m moving down a long hallway. I am frightened, but I don’t think that I am alone. Where are they taking me? My head hurts terribly, and I can’t feel my legs. I am hoping that this a dream, but the pain is becoming intolerable. I wonder if they are going to hurt me? A man in a white suit is talking to me, but I can’t hear him since he is mumbling. A lady wearing a green outfit is shining a bright light in my face. What is going on? All of a sudden I am feeling very sleepy as my vague memory is becoming clearer. During my first few week s of college, I met new people that I hadn’t known from high school. It was a new experience for me, and I was trying to fit in with the cool group. Everyday after class, we would go to the back parking lot and spend our time talking about a party going on the next weekend. I never went to parties in high school, so I thought this might be my big chance for a breakthrough. I was always the good child in my family, and I didn’t smoke or drink, until I met my new friends.
