Babylon revisited

“Babylon Revisited” was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This story is about one person, Charlie, who wants to get guardianship on his daughter back. In the past, Charlie did not realize the importance of his wife and his daughter. He ignored them. However, when he knows how important his daughter is, it is too late. He cannot make the others believe that he has changed. What he did in the past constantly influences his present life. Charlie had never paid much attention to his daughter. When he returns to Paris and meets his old friend, even his close friend, Alix, does not know that he has a daughter. Charlie watched a group of strident queens installing themselves in a corner. “Nothing affects them,” he thought. “Stocks rise and fall, people loaf or work, but they go on forever.” The place oppressed him. He called for the dice and shook with Alix for the drink.
