Octavio PAZ (1914-1998) Poet and Mexican essayist. In 1937 you attended the Congress of Antifascist Writers in Valencia (Spain) together with their wife, the Mexican writer Elena Garro. There it publishes Under your clear shade (1937). he/she Enters in contact with the intellectuals of the Spanish Republic, with Pablo Neruda, and in Mexico he/she comes closer to Jorge it Costs and Xavier Villaurrutia that would mark the development of their work. The same year it publishes in Mexico they won't happen! and man's Root. In 1939 on the world and Night of resurrections. With Efraín Vegetable garden, among other, it founds the magazine Shop. In 1944 with the scholarship Guggenheim one year passes in United States. In 1945 he/she enters to the Mexican External Service and he/she is a correspondent to Paris. Through the surrealist poet Benjamin Péret knows Breton André.
