Oscar Garcia Alvarez Prof. Nichols. Eng. 1A 1/29/04 Garcia1 Reality on a Whim Racism has been around for a long time, it is not something anybody can totally turn away from and forget about. Although now in these present days there are laws that protect people from any kind of racial discrimination. These laws have only turned racism into a subtle undertone that is just as loud a roar as it was before these laws came into place. Now there is a wide variety of different kinds of racism, so many out there that it seems like a lot of people, if not all of society, have been victims of it, with or without them knowing. To some it affects them so much internally that they don’t know how to express their rage and sadness successfully for others to understand just how they feel. Some keep this resentment inside, hidden from others. Thus in many cases the victims of discrimination end up feeling so victimized that in many instances they become racist themselves. Whether it is in the smallest or largest of ways. A lot of people get caught up in this cycle of hate. At one point or another in a person’s lifetime he or she will feel that he/she has been treated unfairly because of who they are.
