Our Countries Good- plot and sub-plot

Plot and subplot · ‘Our Country’s Good’ tells the story of the first convict ship to arrive in Australia (1789). There is only a brief encounter on what actually went on in the ship with the beating of Robert Sideway and the emotions, which was imposed. We experimented on this emotion through a practical workshop where we were suddenly thrown into the experience of being on a convict ship in a Stanislavsky style. We had to try and identify our character and see the pain and coldness they had to go through. · They arrive on the Australian coast. The Captain, Philips, thinks that he can offer the convicts something interesting and constructive to do so they can make an improvement. So he decides upon a play called ‘The Recruiting Officer’. · The main plot of the play revolves around the rehearsals.
