Pillow Talk

In the 1959 film, Pillow Talk, starring Doris Day and Rock Hudson is a sex comedy movie. Romantic comedy is a film where a nice girl or boy meet a completely different opposite sex and fall hopelessly in love with each other. Addition to the meaning of the story, there are humor that bring laughs to the audiences. Although, this movie was a sex comedy, it also showed us the real side of Hollywood. Hollywood was formed by male fantasy. Many of the movies made were dreams created by men. Therefore, this movie, Pillow Talk, is the reflection of the same male fantasies. The image of women in this story is very important because it is portrayed by men. In the movie, Doris Day played the role of a good girl. She couldn’t do anything outrageous or scandalous that would ruin her reputation. Jan Morrow played by Doris Day is a middle-aged virgin woman. At this age, she hasn’t had a serious relationship.
