Every novel has a hero or heroine. Ender’s Game is no different. American novelists have created a stereotypical hero that is always attributed with Americans. These typical heroes have certain characteristics that define them and that are always present with American novels. The novel Ender’s Game has a hero, but Ender is not considered to be a “typical” American hero. The Hero of any novel is usually someone who fights for the side of good. The hero is usually fighting to seek revenge for someone he loved and lost or for someone he knows that has lost someone close to him or her. A hero typically shoots first and asks questions later, they don’t care for the rules and never obey the law. A perfect modern example of a typical American hero is Vin Diesel in his new movie “A Man Apart.” The movie takes place around a cop that ticks off the wrong people and the people he pissed off kills his wife. He turns in his badge and decides to go after the people who took out his wife. He decides to get revenge for everything these people have done to him. Vin Diesel portrays a typical American hero, in the typical American story line. American heroes are attributed with certain characteristics. These characteristics characterize the way the American hero acts and how his part will play out till the end.
