It is ironic because she’s going to watch a horror film and she’s actually in one. ... The audience like the fact that a relation has been made to another horror film and this is used again in a later conversation. ... Casey seems to seek safety by the TV, maybe because it is the only area of good light and it is also ironic because she was going to watch a horror film.
