‘I have been here before’ is a play written by J B Priestley in 1937. After reading it, I was impressed by some of the ideas expressed by Priestly through Dr Gortler, a German Intellectual concerning ‘time’. ... I would like to show that Ormund accepted Dr Gortler’s philosophy only because of the fact that he had under gone a lot of suffering in his life - something that prepared him for the big change in his psycology.
To be able to continue with my proof I have to first show that ormund did indeed undergo suffering. And what better way to do that is there, than to quote him - “when I was a boy I watched my mother die - of cancer.
