Controversy over his work has been present since his fame began. In fact his writing even resembles Science Fiction in many ways? Considered by some to be a writer of Fantasy, Ray Bradbury through his life and his writing style he has a Science Fiction zest to his work. Bradbury was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on the 22nd of August, in 1920. As a child he and his younger brother often visited the traveling circus or carnival as it passed through their small town on the western coast of Lake Michigan. The circus became a key for Bradbury’s earlier writings, and was a foundation for his style and creating mood which would come out in much of his writings. When he was just 15, Bradbury started to submit short stories to local and nationwide newspapers, hoping to one day land a spot in the Saturday Evening Post.
