“The bad new is the most sexually active teens do not even begin to use reliable contraceptive until a year after they have become sexually active and usually after a pregnancy-or a scare,” according to an article I read. This all could be prevented if birth control was given to teenagers before they were sexually active. I believe that parents, high school, and college dorms should hand out birth control devices to teens that are able to have sex. In some states children at the age of twelve are able to obtain birth control from outside clinics without parents permission. If students are educated about the seriousness of sexual activity and give the proper contraceptive many unwanted accidents would be prevented. At home I believe it is important for parents to suggest birth control. When the parents keep open communication with the teenagers, they will feel more comfortable with talking with their parents. Some parents feel if they suggest or give birth control devices to their teens that they are giving them permission to go out and have sex.
