The Fountainhead tells the dramatic story of an architect's struggle to maintain his integrity against those who would have him compromise it. The author described the theme as individualism versus collectivism, not in politics, but in man's soul. By showing how the conflict of individualism versus collectivism pervades all of man's life, and by examining the struggles that this conflict leads to.” This book was recommended to me as a must read by many but I never realized its impact till I actually read it. Truthfully, when I opened this book, I had no idea what to expect. I had heard of Ayn Rand and history of her revolutionary and radical themes, but nothing could really prepare me for what this story had to offer.
