Abortion is one of the most controversial issues in the media and our daily lives. ... The battle was won by the pro-choice movement in 1973 when abortion was legalized by the Supreme Court decision in the Roe v Wade case. ... Due to this and special cases such as rape, incest, and the mother’s health, abortion is legal and a matter of choice, and should remain this way. ... In other words, the court was saying it is a women’s choice to have an abortion no matter what the circumstances. ... Those women who do become pregnant from rape and incest still deserve the choice to have an abortion if they feel it is necessary. ... The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is a strictly pro-choice organization. ... However, this choice is no longer in Jane’s hands. ... Although the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 has intruded so severely on woman’s rights some abortions are still legal. Hopefully Congress will soon realize their grave mistake in passing this law and once again make abortions legal for all women who wish to have them.
