Thomas Alva Edison was one of the most important American inventors during the Industrial Revolution. He invented a lot invention the way of life during the Industrial Revolution and still has affect on us today. Thomas Alva Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. At the age of 7, he and his family moved to Port Huron, Michigan because Thomas’ father got a job as a carpenter at a military post. Thomas attended school for only three months because he was not a bright student because he had hearing problems and could not keep up with the other students. When he was 10 years old, he set up his first laboratory inside his basement. At the age of 12, his mother could not tolerate the fumes from Thomas’ chemistry lab; so Thomas had no other alternative except to be employed as a train boy for the Grand Trunk Railway, whose job was to sell newspaper and candy. As he was working for the Grand Trunk Railway, he set up a new chemistry laboratory and a printing press on the train. While Thomas was working as a train boy for the Grand Truck Railway something extraordinary happened, something that nobody knew would change his life forever. Thomas saved the station officials young son, who had already fallen onto the train tracks, from a train accident.
