I feel that the definition of the American family does need to be changed because there are so many different kinds of families now. The new types of families now probably outnumber typical American family. It has changed in a short period of time from the type of family that we see as right, to many different types such as single parents families where either just the mother or the father raises the child. ... People believe that if you are in a same sex marriage that you should not be able to have kids because it will teach them the wrong ideas and they will be confused about the American family and how it is supposed to be.
