... These lengths include using ephedra based drugs. Ephedra is a stimulant based on an herb grown in China known as Ma Huang. Ephedra speeds up heart beat, and makes you feel anxious; thus preventing people from thinking about or eating all together. Ephedra is reported to cause death, strokes, seizures and other serious health problems in people who had taken a product containing ephedra. While researching this product, I also researched bans involving Ephedra. Such bans included the store GNC who no longer carries Ephedra, and more importantly the ban president Bush is trying to set for the whole country. From this research I will provide evidence on if Ephedra is as dangerous as people claim.
