Scripture Reference Secular Comparison 3:1-8 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die...” Turn! Turn! Turn! By Roger McGuinn “To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn) There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn) And a time for every purpose, under Heaven...” This is a direct reference, following the exact principles of the corresponding scripture. There is a time and season for everything. 11:6 – “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you don not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether bot will do equally well.” Macbeth By William Shakespear Banquo: “If you can look into the seeds of time, And say which grain will grow and which will not, Speak then to me (1.3.60).” This character is displaying the same principle as the scripture, you cannot know what will happen in the future so do what is necessary. 3:20 – “All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.” Naked Sunday By Stone Temple Pilots “And when all is over and we return to dust.” This song shows the same characteristic that we all first came from dust, and in the end when we die, we will all return to dust.
