DISCUSSION QUESTIONS AND POINTS TO PONDER Question 5) Use a sample of 5000 is not necessarily better than one of 500. How would you react to this statement? The answer to the question given above is depended on the population size of the case that we study on. As a rule of thumb, we know that “the larger sample size the more accuracy”. But using the largest sample size is not always necessary to do a good job. The number of population is very important to decide on the number of sample size we use. For example if the population number is 5100, it is unnecessary to use a sample consisting of 5000 items. Because using a sample of 500 is also enough (as it is more than 30) to get the same data we need.
