He was a socialist and even though Communism is a form of Socialism George Orwell didn’t believe that it was pure enough. ... Both Marx and Orwell agree with the general idea of Socialism, but the question comes up: how do Marx’s and Orwell’s views on Socialism differ? ... He let’s the animals act out his opposite views on Socialism, Communism specifically. ... Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it”(Orwell). Since early on Orwell has developed feelings of hatred towards the machine and his concerns about the future of humanity and his support of democratic socialism were the main reasons to write the novel 1984.
