Refutation of “Why Prisons Don’t Work”
In “Why Prisons Don’t Work” Wilbert Rideau explains that due to current laws and legislation prisons are ineffective. ... If this is true, then why are these repeat offenders released so liberally? ... If long-term incarceration does not work, then why are such disturbing individuals allowed to continue to plague law-abiding, tax-paying citizens, even while in prison? ... Rideau suggests, then I would really have to agree with him that prisons really do not work and that this nation’s ability to rehabilitate, has in reality become disfigured and dysfunctional.
