	St.Francis is a patron saint of animals. He is also the patron saint of dying alone, fire, ecology, enviroment, merchants, zoos and peace. I love animals so i decided to learn more about St. Francis. In the yr. 1181 Signora Bernadone, the mother of St. Francis, was pregnant. A blind man came to her door an told her she was to go to the stable to have her baby. He said, " That is the lords wish." When Signora gave birth to her baby boy she named him John. Her husband, Pietro, was out of town. When Pietro returned he changed the baby's name to Francis. This was because Pietro and Signora were from France. Francis' father was a rich cloth merchant. Francis grew up as a happy child, but liked to go to parties. A war broke out and Francis became a soldier.
