1. I feel that Lincoln was justified in his violation of ordinary civil liberties during the Civil War. Why you may ask? Even though he broke many parts of the Constitution, he eventually got the nation out of this national jam. Had he not broken a couple of Constitutional amendments, they were partially justified, especially during the heat of the Civil War. He had supervised voting in the Border States, which was partially used to keep them on the Union¡¯s side. They broke many Bill of Rights to keep the public news of negative aspects of what the Union was doing away from the citizens. If Lincoln did not go against the very rules and foundation of the Constitution, it would have led to the eventual fall of the U.S., and leave the Union and Confederacy split like two parts of a worm. 2. The first consequence of the Civil War was the conditions of the black that they were placed in socially. They were in a situation where they were kicked out by their parents and left to fend for themselves. Many blacks were forced to work again under slave-like standards, which is not much of a movement from the pre-Civil War era. The second major consequence caused by the Civil War was the everlasting tension caused by the split of the North and the South. Since the end of the Civil War, there has been the lingering tension between the North and the South that might go up in flames due to the past war.
