hello mr wrong number. PERSONAL STATEMENT Explorations and analysis have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying predicaments. A Management degree has candidly beckoned me as the most equitable career option from amongst a host of other vocations. Propelled by my keen interest to acquire a theoretical knowledge coupled with my creativity I hope to be a successful manager. I believe that I have the qualities to be a good manager. I am a creative person and often think in a contemplative way about various issues of practical importance. Being able to identify patterns and relationships that are not obvious to others is perhaps my greatest strength. This will prove very valuable because a manager must perceive the balance between theory and practice, analytical rigor and intuition. My communication skills are good and I like expressing ideas and concepts both in oral and written form I have an analytical mind and strong mathematical skills. I am a Rapid self-learner and a Team worker. I hope you would give me a chance to prove my mettle. Looking forward to having a wonderful and enlightening learning experience Throughout our lives, we set goals or standards in what we do. Goal setting gives one a long-term vision and short-term motivation. It also gives one the confidence we need to achieve higher and more difficult goals. DNA AS AN ANALYTICAL TOOL The aspect of molecular patterns which seem to have been most underestimated in the consideration of biological phenomenon is that found in liquid crystals. (J. Needham) Liquid crystals are substances that flow as a liquid but maintains an ordered structure characteristic of a crystal. Bernal (1933) suggests that the living cell is actually a liquid crystal. Many biological structures are in the form of liquid crystalline polymers. The DNA double helix forms a liquid crystal polymer at low temperatures. Due to weak molecular forces liquid crystals respond to a variety of external stimuli - light, mechanical pressure, temperature, electric and magnetic fields and the chemical environment. Is it then possible to use these biological structures viz. DNA as an analytical and diagnostic tool in medicine? At low temperatures, the DNA forms a cholesteric-nematic liquid crystalline structure. The cholesteric-nematic liquid crystal exhibits optical properties. As the temperature increases they change colour going from reds to yellows, greens, blues and ultimately they become transparent. The DNA, in this state, can thus be used as a temperature sensor for continuous monitoring of skin temperature over extended areas. They can also be used to detect tumours by sudden change in the temperature of the malignant region.
