The amount of differences between “Middle English” and “Modern English” is so vast and called for an “in-between” stage.
The beginning of the “Early Modern English” period is either between 1400 and 1450 just after Chaucer and the beginning of the pronounciation shift or around 1500 after the printing revolution.
In the following I’ll give you some of the major circumstances caused the changed from “Middle English” to “Early Modern English”:
