In my opinion, abortion is wrong unless there are certain special circumstances. ... If, however, circumstances out of the womens control lead to her pregnancy, or if carrying and eventually giving birth to the child will cause the women psychological problems, I believe that abortion is acceptable. In this essay I intend to discuss different points of view on abortion and whether I consider them to be valid points or not.
The Catholic teaching regarding abortion is that life begins at conception, so to abort a baby would be parallel to murder. The Church believes that every human being is born with a right to life, and as life begins at conception, abortion violates this right. Abortion is always wrong in the eyes of the Church; there are no excusing circumstances.
