“Bye Jack,” said Kathy as she pulled away from her son’s school. Kathy left the parking lot and continued on to work, where she arrived promptly at 9 AM. Kathy Smith was a single mom who worked as an attorney at New York City’s prestigious Kaz & Brown law firm. She had graduated Harvard Law, where she met her husband Bill, and moved to New York City. There she started a career, family, and a life. Unfortunately, when Bill was on a business trip in Tokyo three years ago, he accidentally ate a poisonous Japanese fish named Hillary and died. Kathy had always been considered an intelligent person and was always expected to succeed in life, which she certainly did. Kathy’s friends had always admired her courage after Bill’s death and her perseverance to get through it. She was always able to get what she wanted, even though it wasn’t always easy. While Kathy was at work that day, everything was going well.
