NHL fans who attended the PGA Champions Tour FleetBoston Classic last August in Concord, Mass., noticed how fit and intense Marc Savard was. For those of you who might have been surprised by the good start of the Atlanta Thrashers, Savard wasn't among you. He was telling everyone back then how much he was looking forward to the season and how good his team had become. Savard was one of the leaders in helping the team re-focus after the tragic accident that took the life of Thrashers forward Dan Snyder and injured teammate Dany Heatley. He is the team's second-leading scorer with 15 goals and 41 points in 32 games despite missing nine games in November due to an ankle injury. He was returning Wednesday night after missing three games with a concussion when he sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during the second period of the Thrashers' 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens at Philips Arena. He will be re-examined Thursday to determine how many games he might miss.
