Sleepless Nights and the Northern Lights
I live in the Hiawatha National Forest. ... It was here that I first encountered the Northern Lights in the sky above this land. ... One of few sleepless nights that I have had these days, I tossed and turned and played every fall-asleep game I could think of. ... The smoke wasn’t particularly satisfying, slippers advises against such unhealthy undertakings, but had this fashionable trio not been unsuccessful in attempts to regenerate and rest the body that was the source of their mobility, the northern lights and we might have remained strangers forever. ... But these were not car lights intermittently flashing across the sky. ... Taken by surprise, all we could do is stare in wonder as the lights danced splendidly across the atmosphere of our humble planet. ... The lights would display secrets older than the Earth on which I was standing. ... Pictures and descriptions had always been green, yellow, and red, boiling in the frigid northern air. ... It was a bitter ending to an otherwise astonishing story about my first encounter with the Northern Lights. ... The Northern Lights, the shooting star, the deer and the grief slippers was sure to give me in the morning about putting him away soaking wet, all went through my mind as I drifted off. ... The Northern Lights are something I will never forget although I’ll be looking for them next time. ... I hope I serve them well by engaging in activities we can all find as fulfilling as the viewing of the Northern Lights was.
