A tropical desert paradise formed from extinct volcanoes off the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean, the Galapagos Islands, or Encantadas, are both the subject under examination in the scientifically organized account of passage one, as well as the romantic setting mourned by the author of passage two. ... Several times does the author of the first passage imply that the information he shares is being recorded in a scientific journall for purposes of research of the Galapagos environment. ... ” No where does he hint at how these observations affect him, whereas the second author’s full intent is to bring to light the great religious or emotional experience that he has invested in the Galapagos.
