What I really liked about The Perks of Being a Wallflower is how it wasn’t afraid to talk about controversial topics, such as drugs, sex, homosexuality, abortion, rape, and other things like that. ... It gets old (and lame) when you read books talking about teens being perfect little angels, using proper language and straying away from anything remotely controversial – if you really think that’s how high school is, I think you’re full of BS. ... Even though the book is easy to read, that doesn’t mean the book doesn’t make you think, because The Perks of Being a Wallflower definitely makes you think. ...
