Society changes us to assimilate into our surroundings. From the way we dress, to the way we talk, and our emotions, society makes us change to fit in to society. The way society treats us can also change us, for better or for worse. In the novel Frankenstein, society changed the monster for worst, which makes us think that Shelley is implying that society changes us to be bad or good.
Society treated the monster which Victor created badly which caused him to be bad. One of those such times which changed the monster was when he was repeatedly struck by Felix when the monster wanted to befriend the blind man and his family.
