Midnight Extravaganza Darting down the road that chilly April night all I could hear was the horrid looking bellowing, “Hey punks, get back here!” All I could think of was how enormous this brute was, and what he would do to me if I was caught. “Would I be pounded, beaten, or even killed?” I didn’t want to stick around to find out. My buddies and I snuck out of my friend’s house earlier that night to wreak havoc upon his neighborhood. We were ding-dong-ditching houses and leaving gifts of smoke bombs on their doorsteps. As we were walking down the street, one of my friends said that he had a bad feeling, and that we should go home. The rest of us, being the kind, considerate friends we are, called him a pussy and kept walking. We headed down a road that happened to be a dead end. We ding-dong-ditched the last house on the road. Immediately after we did it, all the lights in the house went on. I just about wet my pants, and tore off around the corner. About a block down the road, we all met up on a path. We had a choice, we could either take the dark, scary path around a deathly calm lake, or we could wait for about ten minutes and run back past the same house we just ding-dong-ditched.
