Hamlet
... Is Hamlet’s madness feigned or true, a strategy masquerading as a reality or a reality masquerading as a strategy? ... I believe that Hamlet’s madness Is feigned and is a strategy masquerading as a reality. Throughout the play, from Act I, Hamlet has clearly expressed his plans to feign madness and his madness is irregular as well. For example, Hamlet will be talking to Horatio about his future plans and then in the next scene he will be speaking like a madman to Polonius or Guildenstern and Rosencrantz.
