Sustainable Tourism;
The Lake District Tourism and Conservation Partnership Ltd was established in 1993. The company recognises that the environment is part of the mainstay of Cumbria’s tourism industry and that both the industry and visitors have a part to play in safeguarding the future of the landscape. Its main aims are: to encourage the tourism industry, other businesses and visitors to work together with conservation groups to protect the Lake District landscape, particularly the area of the National Park: to raise money to finance practical conservation projects: to demonstrate that tourism and conservation can be mutually supportive: and to raise awareness amongst visitors of the need to protect the Environment.
