Night Essay Night is not only a story about the hardships and the torture the Jews had to go through during World War II, but the strength of love and faith that overcomes the anguish going on around them. In the story Elie and his family are taken from their home and forced into tightly packed ghettos and then to the even worse concentration camps. Elie is then separated from his mother and sisters, but luckily gets to stay with his father. Without the help and presence of his father Elie may not have made it through those rough times. The love between Elie and his father is not the only love we see in this story, there are many other fathers, sons, cousins, uncles, even people who no longer had anyone, that kept their faith and love in God. Many of the Jews in this story had such a strong belief and faith in God; they didn’t even question why this was happening them.
