As a boy turns into a man, he experiences many changes that affect his life physically, emotionally, and mentally. Any and every growth in his life results in a common growth within himself, driving him down the road to maturity. Along this road, there is many changes in what he values and his responsibilities. One of these changes is his valuing the opposite sex and his desire to have a girlfriend. There is an untold responsibility that accompanies this desire, and all of us men know all about it. Although I love her (in as much of a sense as I know about the word), my girlfriend, Elisa, can sometimes bring me stress caused by the responsibilities I have to her, and believe me, this stress comes in truck loads. Three specific burdens that cause me stress are the telephone, the arguments, and her wonderful mother. After a long day of Chaminade note-taking, tests, quizzes, and homework, there are few activities that brighten my spirits like talking to Elisa on the phone before I go to sleep. Before I went out with her, I never valued the telephone as a worthwhile tool for talking with friends. The internet had always been reliable and effective for me and, prior to Chaminade, I had always seen any friend I valued talking to in school.
