... ˇ¨ Three young men, Prince Hamlet, Laertes and young Fortinbras, all have the similar situations in the play, Hamlet: their fathers are murdered by someone. ... Since Prince Hamlet, Laertes and young Fortinbras all want revenge for their fathers; the method they use to avenge is completely different from each other.
Prince Hamlet, whose father, King Hamlet, murdered by his uncle-father, King Claudius, does not avenge immediately. ... These make him become ˇ§madˇ¨ (No one can clearly prove whether Prince Hamlet is really mad or skillfully mad; but I prefer the latter argument) Prince Hamlet does not take any action, in stead, he starts with determining if Claudius is guilty of his fatherˇ¦s death. (ll, ii, 623-634) After two months of King Hamletˇ¦s death, during a play, The Murder of Gonzago, he proves that what the ghost who supposedly is King Hamletˇ¦s spirit said is the truth as Claudius stops the play and rushes out. (lll, ii,291-295) It makes sense if Prince Hamlet kills Claudius since he confirmed the guilty of Claudius; though he has a great chance when Claudius is praying, he does not take any action for ˇ§his own reasonˇ¨: never kill Claudius when he is praying and let him go to the heaven; but let him go to eternal damnation.
