Father Charles Coughlin
Father Charles Coughlin, an influential Roman Catholic priest in America during the 1930’s lived from 1891 to 1979. Coughlin, considered a very radical social reformer, broadcasted his beliefs on politics weekly on the radio for all of America to hear. During the late 1920’s and early 1930’s Father Coughlin’s weekly sermons were very popular among most Americans.
During his weekly sermons Father Coughlin initially discussed theology, but later focused more on politics, which was considered a more popular topic during the Great Depression of the 1930’s.
