The Good in Evil In the world today, many people commit sins but are not punished the way they were back in earlier times. Now a days, society has different ways of punishing people for their crimes than the Puritans did in the 1600s. The novel The Scarlet Letter is known to be particularly difficult to read, but there happen to be good lessons to be learned from it. For example, there are things that I don’t enjoy doing; chores, going to school, and having to go to work but I have learned to be responsible and hard work through these tasks. Nathaniel Hawthorne has created this novel to produce a message to his readers, that there is always something good to learn in a bad situation. Generally, in life there is usually something’s that one dislikes to do but more often than not you learn something that will help you throughout life.
