Politics has become a life long job, and many politicians focus more on their media representation then they do about what they accomplish while in office. Timothy Cook addresses the coworking roles of Congress and the Media. He hypothesizes that the business of Congress has been supplemented for making news. ... However, the media has its standards for what it will bring to the public. Cook states that the media wants stories that are "easily described, have clearly characterized sides, effect a large pert of the audience, and come with straightforward reform remedies" (374). ...
Further, Timothy Cook says that this influence by the media causes certain biases in the way the public votes and creates a disadvantage for competitors.
