Argentinean Food I have researched the food of Argentina. Argentinean food is a lot like other South American country food. They eat a lot of plantains. A plantain is like a banana, except that you have to cook it before you are able to eat it. Argentineans like to eat plantains over black beans and drizzled with sour cream. For meat, the people of Argentina eat a lot of pork, turkey, and seafood. As a topping to toast, cookies, and other deserts they use something called Dulce de Leche. This is a caramel like substance made out of milk, sugar, vanilla flavoring, and sodium bicarbonate. A common desert or snack is sweet layered pastries or Alfajores Danubio. This consists of vanilla and almond flavoring, butter, flour, eggs, ground almonds, the grated rind of a lemon, and Dulce de Leche.
