Not only are the west consuming and living in an unsustainable way, we are taking away, what I believe is our greatest resource; (human beings) away from the developing world to be nurses, doctors and teachers in our countries thus making the poorer even poorer, as they will have a shortfall in qualified individuals leading to a lack of healthcare and education for the future citizens of our world. “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (World commission on Environment and Development, 1987, our common future OUP. ...
