In the novel, The Chrysalids, the author John Wyndham takes the reader into a strange and unusual story by using the narrator David, who can communicate through the thought, to present the story with the major theme. Change is a major theme in this novel. It is evident that some characters fears change, some adapted change and some accepted change. Firstly, the author developed some characters that fears to change. Waknuk people was one of the character that feared change. They feared change because this is their tradition. They believe that the only acceptable image is the true image or image of God which they mention as "God created man in his own image.
