Former deputy commissioner of police (detection) Pradeep Sawant was called for questioning by the Special Investigating Team in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. A high profile officer of the Mumbai crime branch, Sawant's role in the arrest of prime accused in the multicrore stamps scam, Abdul Karim Telgi was questioned by the Jaiswal committee, which submitted its report to the SIT. He was then transferred from his post.
