Beginning with introducing information technology and what really is: [Information technology includes hardware and software one or more data processing tasks such as capturing, transmitting, retrieving, manipulating or displaying data.] 2.1 Information Technology Strategic Plan. Every organization in order to succeed in the market field should set and follow a strategy plan. In order to set a strategy plan first the goals of the organization should be set, the activities should be set along with the organization’s policies. Any organization that would like to gain a respectful market share and be distinguished from the others, should establish a strategic plan. The strategic plan is segmented in three parts. The first part describes the strategic analysis. Strategic analysis portrays the analysis of the current situation of the corporation along with the set goals and objectives. Additionally, strategic analysis is responsible for understanding the environmental features that the corporation runs under, i.e. government policies, local economy etc After the first part, the second part is responsible for choosing the organization appropriate strategy. That means that the organization with this part will make the selection of the general directions of the organization, which will meet the goals that have been set. Finally, the strategic implementation is considered to be the third part of the plan and reply’s to the question in which ways the general directions will be implemented and what actions should be taken. The role of IS in strategic planning is simple that the IS is the medium of applying the strategic plan in a corporation in order to gain competitive advantage and a respectful market share. Moreover, information systems are responsible for manipulating and formulating information in order to perform automated tasks and procedures to help members of the organizations to acquire the appropriate conclusions. In the organizations pyramid several Information Systems are taking position in order to construct the suitable ERP model. An ERP (enterprise) model is the association between several information Systems, which are interacts in order to provide to the several levels: operational, knowledge, management and strategic levels of the organization the appropriate information. With the intention of explaining the ERP a graphical pyramid will be follow: As it is visible from the previous figure the corporation is divided in five departments: management, sales, finance, human resources and production, in which four different levels are involved: Operational level, knowledge level, Management level, Strategic level.
