Space Galley

...od others of copper and some of, well a whole bunch of different things. After I was finished looking at the sculptures on the floor I was driven in the direction of an unusual piece. It wasn’t a painting, sculpture or photograph, or at least I didn’t think it was a photograph. Jeff Juhlin did the piece, and it was called Photogram. What drew me towards it were its size and the way it was put together. The piece was put together with nine different sections in a three by three formation. They weren’t all close together though, they were separated about eight inches apart from each other. The whole piece was about four feet by six feet and it looked as if Jeff took a purple background and spray painted random black lines all over it. It was without a doubt a non-representational piece. The shocking part of the whole thing is that it wasn’t spray painted at all. There wasn’t even any paint involved at all. It was all done with light. Photography. I don’t know how they did it but is was one of the coolest pieces I’ve seen in a while. There was really nothing to it though; it was just black lines on a purple background. The way he got the lines to flow together was the part that really pulled me into the picture.
