South Carolina has many very beautiful landforms. South Carolina is a small shaped like a piece of pie. It is one of the smallest states in America. There are mountains at the tip of it and an ocean at the edge of the state. Its only neighbors are Georgia and North Carolina. The area near the ocean is called the low country while the hilly part is called the up country. In the west there are mountains. In the east is a beautiful seacoast. The state sits in the area called the American coastal plain. There are many steep sandy hills. The ocean used to run over those hills. The line between the upcountry and the lowcountry is called the “fall line.” It is called the fall line because there are many waterfalls there. The state boundary line between South Carolina and Georgia is called the savannah. Sassafras Mountain is the highest point in South Carolina. It can be found in the blue ridge mountain region.
