... wall that his son had put up. He knew that love is stronger than hate, so he tried to use that to get through to his son. He basically had a give/take relationship with his son. Siddhartha gave and his son took. He was very kind to his son, but he was also weak. He wasn’t strong enough to do what he needed to do for his son. He ended up being selfish, because what was best for his son isn’t what Siddhartha wanted for him. He needed to take his son back to the town, but he didn’t want to because he loved him too much. He needed to be harsher to his son and put up rules and boundaries so that he could grow into a strong person, but he was too weak to do that. Instead he let his son do whatever he wanted and get away with everything. Deep down he knew that he was not doing the right thing, but he needed his son and needed to be able to love him, so he refused to do the right thing. In some ways he was very good to his son, but in the end that turned out to be worse for him. He never hit his son or took a harsh tone with him, but was always loving and kind to him. That was good, but he let him get away with absolutely everything and he never punished him. This resulted in his son never learning from mistakes he made or learning boundaries. Therefore, in ...
