Gracies specialty was a no rules style submission fight. IV. Thesis: I was then given a demonstration on what my friend, a trained killer, thought everyone should know. I would like to demonstrate his technique, and give everyone what they need to know about self defense. V. Preview of main points: I will preview by laying out the steps necessary in proper self defense: 1. Strategy 2. Block 3. Counter attack 4. Grab Transition: If these steps are followed you will have the tools to defeat anyone in hand to hand combat. Anyone can do this, both male and female. Body I. Strategy - It is necessary to know what to do in case of attack. You must remain versatile, and able to adapt. Because fights are not scripted having a specific fighting style doesn't work. A. Support: There are 2 main attacks, the puncher/boxer, or the wrestler. Demo: I will show both attacks. Transition: The next step is to know how to defend against these II. Block- It isn't fun to be hit, so you should block the attack. A. Support: Raising your elbow to about 90' and touching it to your face will block a punch. Putting the head in lock will stop a wrestler type attack. Demo: I will show how to properly block and move the head to a lock. Transition: The next step is the counter attack. III. Counter - There are 2 types of counter attacks, the punch and the kick. A. Support: It is important to counter inside with an elbow, as it is a very hard part of the body. Demo: I will show how to use elbow. B. Support: Using a kick can disable the attacker. Kick using your hips and top of foot. Also this is a good time to use your knee in defense. Demo: I will show how to kick and use knee. Transition: The next step is the most important move in self defense. IV.
