The bird’s actions emphasize nature’s simplicity. c. “And he rolled his feathers;” this part of the poem allows the reader to imagine the little bird preparing to fly off. Birds usually prepare to take off somewhat slowly; the poem also kind of slows down. d. “Than oars divide the ocean” clearly manifests the bird gracefully flying through the air. e.
